ONE BILLION RISING
Wednesday, February 14th from 5.00 pm in P.zza Mazzini, the Casa delle Donne-Centro Antiviolenza of Viareggio, with the Patronage of the Municipality of Viareggio and the Carnival Foundation, will organize, as every year, the ONE BILLION World Event RISING.
On the same day, in more than 200 countries around the world, 1 billion women and girls will dance on "Breack the Chain" against violence against women.
ONE BILLION RISING was born from the idea of the American writer EveEnsler, which started from the shocking UN statistics: 1 woman in 3 on the planet is beaten or raped in the course of her life. This means One Billion of Women and Girls in the world, one third of the women that each of us know suffers violence.
One BillionRising is the largest mass global mobilization against male violence against women and the girls, to re-signify the festival of S. Valentino.
